The majority of my work lives online, which makes it that much more exciting when I get to see an image in print. Recently I decided to print up a piece to hang over my sofa that would have a bit of an impact. I choose an image I took of the redwoods in Oakland (available through Society6) and had it made up as an engineer print then mounted it to two pieces of wood.
Engineer prints are large scale black and white images normally created on a plotter as plans or blueprints. While the quality is pretty lo-fi you can create poster sized prints (as large as 30x40) for as little as $7. You can order them through your local office supply shop with an onsite printer, like Kinkos or order them online through Photo Jojo for $25.
